“Excellent… a powerful insight into a life shared” The Guardian ★★★★

Nominated for Best Documentary and Best Debut Documentary at the BIFAs, TWO STRANGERS TRYING NOT TO KILL EACH OTHER is a profoundly moving film about living, creating and loving.

The film follows the lives of British artist and writer Maggie Barrett and world-famous photographer Joel Meyerowitz who, after an accident, face the inevitability of impermanence and seek a deep peace in their relationship while they still can.

Upon a change encounter and with unique access to the couple’s lives, directors Jacob Perlmutter and Manon Ouimet lived with Joel Meyerowitz and Maggie Barrett for one year, resulting in a poetic, intimate and often funny film that explores universal themes of love and mortality.
