The Princess is a film which uses archival footage to create an immersive narrative of Diana, Princess of Wales life and death. Directed by Ed Perkins academy award winner for Tell Me Who I am, Perkins challenges the viewer to turn the camera back on the paparazzi and traditional monarchy structures. Following the story of a woman, a nanny, kindergarten teacher, mother, humanitarian and activist whose private life became public property. Known as the peoples Princess Diana followed her own rules by the pull of her heart rather than her head and strayed from traditions of royalty, in doing so she left a legacy in many hearts across the nation. The film shows through the archive footage how her influence on the public has had a lasting effect on the attitude towards the royal monarchy.
