Produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Richard Donner (Superman, Lethal Weapon), this classic from 1985 follows the Goonies – a group of young friends living in a coastal town. The group’s leader Mikey Walsh (Sean Astin), his older brother Brandon (Josh Brolin) and gang members Andy, Data, Stef, Mouth, and Chunk are being evicted from their homes (they are to be demolished to make way for a golf course).

Setting out to save their homes, the Goonies find a treasure map and set off in search of the treasure of the legendary pirate One-Eyed Willy. This takes them through a spectacular underground realm of twisting passages, outrageous booby-traps and a long-lost pirate ship full of golden doubloons. The gang race to stay one step ahead of a family of bumbling bad guys also after the treasure, led by the dastardly Momma Fratelli, and a mild-mannered monster with a face only a mother could love.
