Set in the 1990s, the latest Transformers instalment follows Noah, a sharp young guy from Brooklyn, and Elena, an ambitious, talented artefact researcher as they are swept up in an all-out war between the Maximals, Predacons, and the Terrorcons. As the action unfolds, Optimus Prime and the Autobots face a terrifying new nemesis, hell bent on their destruction, named Scourge, the leader of the Terrorcons, who enjoys defeating and collecting Autobots and Maximals, displaying them as trophies.

Over a 30 year period, Léonor Serraille’s film is a moving chronicle about the construction and deconstruction of her family. The film is a follow-up to Serraille’s Caméra d’Or-winner Jeune Femme at Cannes 2017, and is a moving and thoughtful film about the immigrant experience and generational trauma.
