With further lockdowns and school closures announced across all four UK nations at the start of January, our friends at Into Film are contuining to update their list of key titles which are available to watch on BBC iPlayer and All4 on a daily basis. Each title has associated learning materials attached, in the form of film guides, blogs, interviews and resources for further study.

Newly added to our Picture House at Home online programme! Away is about a boy travelling across an island on a motorcycle, trying to escape a dark spirit and get back home. Along the way he makes a series of connections with different animals and reflects on the possible ways he ended up on the island. Part dream, part reality, Away explores our common, universal need to find a connection.

We’re delighted to team up with Modern Films to bring you an exciting selection of films for you to enjoy from the comfort of your home. Whilst our priority is to be able to show you films on the big screen, we felt it was important to provide this platform to our audience whilst our doors are closed, as well as offering a service for those who are unable to visit us when we reopen.

We’re delighted to share the news that we are the recipient of two grants from the DCMS’ Culture Recovery Fund, totalling £101,271, as part of the BFI’s scheme awarding DCMS money to support independent cinemas during the Covid-19 pandemic.

We’re delighted to be one of 13 organisations across the North receiving a #NationalLottery grant from the Film Exhibition Fund which will help us deliver a screen heritage season of nine films and events as part of our fantastic centenary programme in 2021!
