Cast: Rutger Hauer, Harrison Ford, Sean Young, Daryl Hannah
118 mins

Chosen by HBFC members is the dystopian sci-fi Blade Runner! Ridley Scott’s definitive Final Cut, includes extended scenes and never-before-seen special effects. In a future of high-tech possibility soured by urban and social decay, Rick Deckard hunts for fugitive, murderous replicants – and is drawn to a mystery woman whose secrets may undermine his soul.

Jackie Wilkinson Film Club member says “It is a stunning film to watch on a big screen, the first film to use so many Sci Fi tricks and skills we now take for granted . Cinematic, compelling and beautiful.”

David Ilott says “ I saw the original cut of Blade Runner back in 1982 and it was like nothing I’d ever seen before. Ridley Scott remains my favourite director and I’ve met him and many of the cast at events over the years. The power of the film, its visual beauty and the stunning score by Vangelis make it a ground breaking masterpiece that never dates. Looking forward to the screening.”

Jan Hope-Collins says “It was one of the first films I saw depicting a dystopian future. Visually I loved it and although I remember it was dubbed ‘Bladecrawler’ by some people the slow development of the story really appealed to me.”
