Two films for the price of one!
We are thrilled to present a monster double-bill of James Whale’s horror classics, Frankenstein (1931) and The Bride of Frankenstein (1935). Featuring the iconic depiction of The Monster by Boris Karloff, later joined by an equally memorable Elsa Lanchester as the Bride, these films have remained at the top of the list of influential, unforgettable horror classics for nearly a century.
Frankenstein (1931)
Boris Karloff stars as the screen’s most memorable monster in what many consider to be the greatest horror film ever made. Dr. Frankenstein (Colin Clive) dares to tamper with life and death by creating a human monster (Boris Karloff) out of lifeless body parts. It’s director James Whale’s adaptation of the Mary Shelley novel blended with Karloff’s compassionate portrayal of a creature groping for identity that makes Frankenstein a masterpiece not only of the genre, but for all time.
The Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
In this spine-tingling sequel to the iconic Frankenstein, Mary Shelley’s iconic characters return, and a new creature is born—a bride for Dr Frankenstein’s monster. Boris Karloff, Elsa Lancester and Colin Clive deliver unforgettable performances that have cemented themselves in horror movie history.
